July 25, 2017
On August 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM, California Energy Commission staff will host a one-hour webinar to share information on innovative projects focusing on phase change materials and their exciting potential to make zero net energy buildings more affordable. Phase change materials (PCM) are materials that change from one phase (i.e., solid, liquid or gas) to another at a designated temperature.
- Martin Vu and Kyle Dunn, RMS Energy Consulting, LLC, will discuss their work with phase change materials evaluation.
- Laurent Pilon and Guarav Sant, UCLA, will discuss the design, energy and cost-saving potentials of cement-based composite building materials containing microencapsulated phase change materials.
There will be a Q&A session following the presentation, and a bonus session after the webinar will provide information about the EPIC and Emerging Technologies programs, funding opportunities, and how to get involved.
This webinar is co-sponsored by the Emerging Technologies Coordinating Council whose members include Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, Southern California Gas Company, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, and the California Energy Commission. The California Public Utilities Commission provides oversight of the activities of the Emerging Technologies Coordinating Council. The EPIC program is the California Energy Commission’s research and development program.
All presentations and a recording of the webinar will be posted at: http://www.energy.ca.gov/research/notices/
